Custóias is a parish in the municipality of Matosinhos, in the Porto district. It occupies the northeastern fringe of the greater Porto metropolitan area, where residential development has expanded outward from the city centre into formerly agricultural terrain.

The parish has largely lost its rural character to suburban development, though some green corridors and older building fabric persist. Its position on the Camino Português places it in the transitional stretch between the historic urban core of Porto and the more open terrain of the Maia municipality further north.

For pilgrims, Custóias is a functional passage through urban sprawl rather than a destination in its own right, typical of the suburban sections that characterise the route between Porto and Braga.
