Description

Edit

Bacurín is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino route between Lugo and the Arzúa corridor. The name may be a diminutive of a local toponym or family name. The settlement has a quiet farmstead character in the enclosed green valley landscape of the Lugo interior.

The surrounding terrain combines dairy cattle pasture, oak and eucalyptus woodland, and the traditional stone farmhouses and hórreos of rural Galicia. For pilgrims, Bacurín is a passage point in the long stage through the Lugo interior toward the final Galician stages before Santiago.
