Atadoa

Atadoa is a small locality in the municipality of Condeixa-a-Nova, in the Coimbra district, situated on the descending terrain between the limestone plateau of Conimbriga and the Mondego river plain approaching Coimbra. The name may derive from a local geographic or personal name.

The settlement sits in forested terrain with pine, eucalyptus, and scrub covering the hillsides. The landscape here is beginning to open as the route descends toward the Mondego basin, and the urban fringe of Coimbra becomes increasingly visible on the horizon.

On the Camino Português, Atadoa falls in the final rural section before the route enters the wider Coimbra metropolitan area, a short distance before the first urban suburbs of the city.
