Descripción
Aguiada is a small locality in the province of Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Frances on the approach to Sarria. The settlement has a quiet farmstead character in the enclosed valley terrain below the forested Galician mountain slopes.
The surrounding landscape combines the lush green pasture and oak woodland typical of the Lugo valley interior, with stone farmhouses and the occasional hórreo granary on the gentle slopes. The path here passes through a pleasant agricultural corridor before the urban approach to Sarria begins.
For pilgrims, Aguiada represents the last fully rural character before the town of Sarria, the valley terrain providing a quiet transition.
