Description

Edit

Sigrás is a locality in the municipality of Cambre, in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino Inglés route between A Coruña and Betanzos. The settlement has a dispersed rural character in the enclosed green valley landscape of the Cambre area, where pasture, oak woodland, and traditional stone farmhouses are distributed across the rolling hills.

The Cambre municipality is notable for the Romanesque church of Santa María de Cambre, one of the finest examples of Galician Romanesque architecture, though this lies in the town of Cambre rather than in Sigrás itself. The route through Sigrás passes through the agricultural hinterland of the Cambre municipality on the early stages of the A Coruña branch of the Camino Inglés.
