Description

Edit

San Pedro da Ramallosa is a civil parish in the municipality of Nigrán, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia. It is situated at a crossing of the Miñor river between Baiona and the town of Nigrán, and is known for its medieval stone bridge over the river, one of the surviving pieces of road infrastructure on the old coastal road network.

The village has a traditional Galician character with granite farmhouses, the parish church, and the riverside setting that gives the crossing its historic importance. The medieval bridge at Ramallosa has been a recognised waypoint on the coastal routes of this area for centuries.

For pilgrims on the coastal Camino Português, San Pedro da Ramallosa provides the Miñor river crossing on the approach to Nigrán and the southern suburbs of Vigo.
