Piaxe

Piaxe is a small locality in the province of A Coruña, Galicia, on the Camino de Fisterra and Muxía routes in the agricultural interior west of Negreira. The settlement occupies elevated terrain on the plateau, where the landscape opens up with wider views than the enclosed woodland sections closer to Santiago.

The surrounding area has the typical Galician smallholder character, with cultivated plots, stone walls, farmhouses, and the occasional wayside cruceiro cross marking lane junctions. The elevated position gives the locality a sense of exposure to the Atlantic winds coming from the west.
