Description

Edit

Pasantes is a small locality in the municipality of Triacastela, Lugo, Galicia, on the Camino Frances on the descent from the Galician mountain ridge toward Triacastela. The settlement has a dispersed stone farmhouse character on the sloping terrain.

The surrounding landscape has the lush enclosed quality of the lower Galician mountain slopes, with oak woodland, pasture meadows, and the stone farmhouses with hórreo granaries of traditional Galician settlement. The route here alternates between woodland path and open meadow as the descent continues.

For pilgrims, Pasantes is a quiet passage point on the approach to Triacastela, the green enclosed character of the terrain becoming increasingly pronounced.
