Cuerres

Cuerres is a small locality in the municipality of Ribadesella, in Asturias, situated on the elevated terrain above the Sella river valley on the approach to the town of Ribadesella. The setting gives the locality a commanding position with views down the valley and, on clear days, toward the snow peaks of the Picos de Europa to the south.

The surrounding landscape is the green enclosed valley terrain of the Sella watershed, with pasture, mixed woodland, and the traditional stone architecture of rural Asturias. The descent from Cuerres toward Ribadesella is one of the more scenic approach stages of the Asturian Camino del Norte.
