Bodenaya

Bodenaya is a small locality in the municipality of Salas, in Asturias, on the Camino Primitivo route on the ascending terrain west of Salas toward the mountain pass. The settlement occupies elevated hillside terrain where the route begins its climb toward the Grandas de Salime area and the high western Asturian mountains.

The surrounding landscape transitions from the enclosed valley terrain of the Salas basin to the more open, exposed hillside country of the mountain approach. Gorse, heather, and chestnut woodland are characteristic of the terrain at this elevation.
