Tablizo

Tablizo is a small locality in the municipality of Valdés, in Asturias, on the clifftop coastal terrain of the Camino del Norte between Cudillero and Luarca. The name may relate to tablizo, a type of flat stone or paving, possibly describing the flat limestone rock formations characteristic of this section of the Asturian coast.

The surrounding landscape is the open western Asturian clifftop: limestone outcrops, Atlantic heath, and the dramatic cliff edge above the Bay of Biscay. This section of the Camino del Norte between Cudillero and Luarca is one of the more isolated and scenically intense stages of the Asturian coastal route.
