Lovelhe

Lovelhe is a civil parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Cerveira, in the Viana do Castelo district. It occupies the hillside terrain above the Minho valley on the inland route between Vila Nova de Cerveira and Valença, in the typical granite and vine landscape of the lower Minho district.

The settlement has a dispersed farmstead character without a significant historic centre, set in a landscape of small cultivated plots, granite walls, and mixed woodland on the steeper slopes. The terrain is gently undulating, giving views across the valley toward Galicia.

On the Camino Português, Lovelhe is a passage point on the penultimate section before Valença, where the route follows the hillside corridor through the final rural terrain of the Portuguese Minho before the fortified border town.
