Ledigos

Ledigos is a small municipality in the province of Palencia, Castilla y León, situated on the Camino Frances between Calzadilla de la Cueza and Terradillos de los Templarios. The village occupies the open Campos plain in the final Palencia stages before the León border.

The surrounding terrain is the characteristic flat cereal farmland of the Tierra de Campos with the route following the alignment of the ancient Roman road that predates the medieval Camino. The village has a compact stone character and limited services.

For pilgrims, Ledigos is a quiet passage point on the long flat plain stages, the Roman road alignment beneath the path connecting the current pilgrimage to a much older tradition of overland travel.
