Descripción
Aguim is a small parish in the municipality of Anadia, within the Aveiro district of central Portugal. It sits on the broad agricultural plain of the Bairrada region, where the predominant landscape is defined by vine cultivation on the characteristic limestone-clay soils that produce the region’s noted Baga wines.
The village has a compact layout organized around its parish church, with traditional low stone buildings and narrow lanes typical of rural Beira Litoral settlements. Though modest in scale, Aguim forms part of the network of small communities that punctuate the Camino Português between Mealhada and Anadia, giving the route its intimate rural character through this stretch.
The surrounding countryside is visually open, with the flat plain broken occasionally by cork oaks and the long rows of vines. Agricultural life remains central to the community’s character.
